Diginotar hack resulted in questions from several Member of European Parliament seeking answers from European Commision. All questions were asked by Dutch MEPs. In the parliamentary question from 13 september 2011 Marietje Schaake (ALDE) and Sophia in ‘t Veld (ALDE) asked about consequences of the Diginotar hack for European certification system, specifically Trust Service List.
Another parliamentary questions from 9 september asked by Judith Sargentini (Verts/ALE) is a bit stranger claiming “the Dutch company Diginotar has been drawn into espionage activities against Iranian citizens using Google”. It focuses on Iran using these fake certificates to spy on their citizens.
